don't promise me you'll be back
when the day turns to black
don't promise we'll be together
when things become better
you always said i love you
but you were always going to
some faraway place
to hide in your own space
don't promise another day
because it's too far away
don't promise it's my turn
because promises burn

or hold on to a promise
